Materials that have witnessed the past
A farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside
A beautiful farmhouse in the Tuscan hills, near Impruneta, was refinished with Pietra di Rapolano floorings, for both the interiors and the exteriors.
Tuscan farmhouses owe a part of their beauty to the materials that constitute them: the stones of the walls are those that the peasants collected directly in the fields, a constituent part of the hills, a material of which the Tuscan countryside “is made”.
For this reason, natural stones of local origin were chosen for the renovation.

Travertine
Interiorly, the Light Blend (code Pdr 067) was used for the kitchen and living area with fireplace: it is a material that matches perfectly with the kitchen furniture made of antique wood. The chosen “Duomo” finish (brushed only), gives the ambient of a lived-in environment, which however enhances the beauty of the furniture and augments the country-chic style of the home.
The same travertine was used in the bedrooms, in the bathrooms, and in the connecting areas, giving homogeneity to the spaces.

All the details of the house were carefully chosen: the doors are those found in the house before the restorations that, although renewed, have retained their antique hardware elements and the overlapping layers of color, both evidence of a long history.
Even the exteriors were paved in travertine Autunno selection (code Pdr 029): a material of intense shades, with hints of red, perfect for the context in which the house is located.
